Senior Portfolio Manager – Leisure Industry

£35,000-£40,000, Plus Bonus and Company Car

About the role

We are searching for an experienced Account Manager for our client. The role is to manage one of our clients largest accounts, providing a great opportunity to influence and make a difference to a key part of the business.

Account Management

  • Supplier liaison and proactive Key Account Management, managing expectations around commercial performance ensuring we deliver to budgets
  • Working closely and pro-actively with the Commercial and Marketing teams and all other internal departments including E-commerce, Sales, Contact Centre and the PR Team to ensure that this key supplier relationship is optimised at all times
  • Collating weekly, monthly and quarterly reports across all internal departments to provide key owners with the most up to date information and performance status.
  • Act as a point of contact for supplier issues that may arise during the course of the year and ensure that all supplier issues are resolved in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of both parties
  • Visit parks on site across the UK and Europe where appropriate to cement working relationship and ensure appropriate levels of training are conducted to ensure the partners’ employees are comfortable with their understanding and efficient use of business tools and technology platforms.
  • Work with suppliers at all times throughout the year to optimise sales profitability and on park guest experience.
  • Manage the web review process, ensuring all information needed for the web is accurately captured (copy, photography, text and tone) working closely with internal and external departments to meet deadlines
  • Assist in ensuring volume sales represent profitable sales, by working closely with contact centre, web and systems to maximise income streams

 Business Development

  • Represent the business in a professional manner acting as an ambassador for the wider business.
  • Keep abreast of developments out in the field to ensure the programme is cutting edge by visiting industry events and subsequently feeding back to internal teams with opportunities and suggestions.
  • Collation of data, information, data and imagery for all new locations, working closely with the Development Team and senior managers of the partner.

Other

  • Ensure that each location conforms to company Health and Safety standards and address any issues with Park Managers and Senior Management
  • Provide product training and support to call centre teams, to maximise sales potentials at each site
  • Assist in the organisation and running of national supplier conferences and events as appropriate.

Skills/knowledge

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Powerpoint
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Good commercial and business acumen
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with a range of stakeholders
  • Key stakeholder and people management experience
  • Park operational knowledge (desirable)

Experience

  • 3 year’s experience of working within a commercial role
  • Senior supplier liaison/management (face to face and telephone)
  • Experience of dealing with ‘high value’ suppliers
  • Knowledge of UK travel and geography
  • Experience in the holiday/travel sector (desirable)
  • Previous business development management experience (desirable)
  • Previous product management experience (desirable)

Personal Traits

  • Commercially astute and able to interpret financial data
  • Able to independently hold and manage regular high level commercial meetings
  • Familiar with working to tight deadlines and in fast paced office environment
  • Able to effectively motivate and support the wider team
